Week 15 Predictions for the 2025-2026 NFL Season: Staying the Course

Week 14 Results

9-5

Overall Results

125-83

Before I provide you with my picks for the games that in week 15 are the start of the last quarter of the season, as always, I give you my quick reaction to the previous week’s games. In week 14 some teams had their seasons on the line regarding making the playoffs and there were division leads to be decided. Some teams were an utter disappointment while other teams bucked the odds and came out victors.

One team had a very unfortunate injury, and the playoff picture is beginning to take form. On the season after 14 weeks my record after a 9-5-mark last week stands at 125-83 or a winning percentage of .600. How does that compare with some national experts?

It looks like I’m holding my own in comparison to the big boys. I’m up to the challenge so away we go with the instant opinions on the games.

Week 14 Knee Jerks

Detroit 44 Dallas 30: (Harv’s score: Cowboys 27-20). Heading into this game, the Cowboys knew a win was crucial. After Monday’s result with the Eagles, they must be kicking themselves now at the missed opportunity. Had they won this one Dallas would be just one game behind first place Philadelphia. Now they probably don’t get into the dance. They need two Eagles losses to catch Philadelphia. The Lions’ win helps them, but they still find themselves two losses behind division leader Green Bay.

Minnesota 31 Washington 0: (Harv’s score: Vikings 18-14). Jayden Daniels returns from injury and gets injured. Go figure. Before he left the game he was not playing well and Marcus Mariotta failed to get the offense some points. J.J. McCarthy was not great statistically, but his rating was high.

Miami 34 New York Jets 10: (Harv’s score: Dolphins 23-21). The Jets have hit double digits in losses for the season, and it just isn’t getting any better for the Green and White. Miami takes a four-game winning streak into chilly Pittsburgh for week 15.

Seattle 37 Atlanta 9: (Harv’s score: Seahawks 31-14). Sam Darnold and the Seahawks just keep rolling and blowing out teams as Seattle remains tied with the Rams for the NFC West division lead with just three losses. The Falcons are a mess.

Pittsburgh 27 Baltimore 22: (Harv’s score: Ravens 33-20). I had said the Steelers would need a perfect game to win this one and while they were not that, they put on a workmanlike gutsy effort with a win that was helped along by some Ravens’ mistakes. Baltimore now in second is on the outside looking in for a playoff position.

New Orleans 24 Tampa Bay 20: (Harv’s score: Buccaneers 48-9). The shocking result for the day. Just like that the once front running Bucs are tied for first place in the NFC south with none other than the Carolina Panthers. This was the Saints’ 2025 Super Bowl.

Jacksonville 36 Indianapolis 19: (Harv’s score: Jaguars 27-24). The Jaguars are quietly in first place in the AFC South and heading to the post season. Anyone playing them better not sleep on Jacksonville. The Colts are in disaster mode and have had to recall the long-retired Philip Rivers to come back and be their quarterback. This at 44 years old.

Tennessee 31 Cleveland 29: (Harv’s score: Browns 17-6). Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski gets the “moron of the day” award for attempting a two-point conversion in this loss pulling quarterback Shadeur Sanders off the field while the rookie was having a great afternoon. The attempt failed and the Browns lost to a team who had just one victory prior to this one. A wildcat play with Quinshon Judkins failed miserably and left Stefanski red-faced.

Buffalo 39 Cincinnati 34: (Harv’s score: Bills 29-17). The Bengals were leading 21-11 at halftime and with Joe Burrow apparently cruising. They raised that lead to 28-18 in the third quarter and then the wheels fell of when Christian Benford picked of Burrow for a 64-yard pick six, Benford’s second defensive touchdown in as many weeks. Burrow would get intercepted twice on the day and with the loss, Cincinnati’s playoff chances are most likely over.

Denver 24 Las Vegas 17: (Harv’s score: Broncos 30-3). Both the Broncos and Patriots have now won 10 straight games. Are they heading for an AFC championship showdown? That remains to be seen but in beating the lowly Raiders by only a touchdown, this is not a good sign that Denver is one of the conference’s best teams. I’m sure that Pete Carroll thought his team would win more than two games this season.

Chicago 21 Green Bay 28: (Harv’s score: Packers 28-24). The Bears may have lost but they showed they can hang with the best teams in the league. It seems to me the better teams right now are in the NFC, and the Packers are one of those.

Los Angeles Rams 45 Arizona 17: (Harv’s score: Rams 36-13). I think the M.V.P. favorite in the NFL right now is Matthew Stafford. He is having an amazing season and added three more touchdown passes here. I had some anger last week in learning the Steelers were vying for his services before the season began but Mike Tomlin wanted Aaron Rodgers. The Cardinals are one of several teams in total disarray.

Houston 20 Kansas City 10: (Harv’s score: Chiefs 35-21). Those who don’t like the Chiefs or are tired of seeing them in the postseason year in and year out, no need to worry about that anymore. Kansas City needs a miracle to get into the dance and it’s unlikely that will happen. The Texans are red hot coming from a record of 3-5 to winning the last five straight. They now trail the Jaguars by just one game, but they don’t play each other again this season unless it is in the playoffs. Andy Reid gets a moron of the day trophy as well after attempting to convert a fourth down from his own 30 yard line. Stupid.

Philadelphia 19 Los Angeles Chargers 22 OT: (Harv’s score: Chargers 23-17). Philadelphia as reigning champs are slip sliding away now with three straight Ls.

However, in their final four games there is only one game they will have a tough time in and that is game number 16 when they are in Buffalo. The other three are against the Raiders (at home), and Commanders twice.

Now it’s that time to make my game picks. There will be teams playing from this point forward with nothing to play for except pride with their playoff chances in the toilet. For other front running teams, they are now playing for divisional titles and seeding in the post season.

Week 15 Picks

Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

ATL 12

TB 41

After this week’s round of games it’s likely that the Bucs and Panthers will still be tied for the lead in the NFC South unless the Saints can pull another shocker and knock off Carolina which would mean New Orleans defeats the top two teams in the division in back to back weeks. Ain’t happening “Aints.”

Arizona Cardinals at Houston Texans

ARI 6

HOU 35

The Texans with their five-game winning streak get a real gift here. Watch out Houston for the ill fated “trap” game.

Cleveland Browns at Chicago Bears

CLE 17

CHI 24

I saw a news item this week that Deshaun Watson will make a return next year for the Browns. I call that stupid. Shadeur Sanders is holding his own and it will be interesting to see how he fairs against the tough Chicago defense. The Bears need this one as much as they will need a victory in the final three. The Browns just aren’t good enough and their fans will have to hope their head coach doesn’t make any more dumb decisions in this one.

Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs

LAC 27

KC 30

The Chiefs could squeak in as a wild card once the playoffs begin but they will have to win out. That begins here and then follows with an easy game in Tennessee, home for Denver, and a road game in Vegas. It’s not out of the question they could win out but they will need help from around the conference. The Chargers while hampered with injuries just keep finding ways to win. Kansas City will pull this one out.

Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals

BAL 30

CIN 34

This is a game that could put the nail in the coffin of the Ravens. Joe Burrow would like nothing more than to bounce Baltimore out of the post season and Joe Burrow is probably focused on outplaying Lamar Jackson. The Ravens took a big psychological hit last week in losing how they did to Pittsburgh.

Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots

BUF 27

NE 16

Can the Bills win their division? They would have to win this one to have a chance. With the Patriots winning the first matchup, if these two finish in a tie I believe the tie breaker is conference record. Right now, New England is 6-2 and Buffalo 6-3. The Pats play in Baltimore next week and close with the Jets and Dolphins. Buffalo travels to Cleveland in week 16 then finishes their season with Philadelphia at home and the Jets at home. It’s unlikely the Bills will overtake New England but for this one? AFC Game of the Week hands down. I’m not a believer in how good the Patriots are but the Bills are proven. That gives them the edge.

Washington Commanders at New York Giants

WAS 17

NYG 18

Who finishes in the NFC East basement? This game could determine that. There are a handful of teams with two and three losses so the battle for the NFL draft overall #1 pick is still in question but if the Giants lose here, they will be a favorite to earn that honor. Their coaching staff and management will have to make the tough decision to play to win this game or tank and shoot for that coveted top spot in Pittsburgh next spring. I don’t think they will do that.

Las Vegas Raiders at Philadelphia Eagles

LV 9

PHI 48

This is a good opportunity for the Eagles to right their ship as the finish line for the season gets closer. They get a bad team to get corrected. If they somehow blow this game, they don’t deserve to defend their title.

New York Jets at Jacksonville Jaguars

NYJ 13

JAX 39

A perfect trap game for the Jaguars but their new head coach Liam Coen is everything he was projected to be. He’s turned this team around magnificently. No one could have predicted a playoff spot let alone a division title for Jacksonville this season. I believe the Jags won’t take the bait.

Tennessee Titans at San Francisco 49ers

TEN 12

SF 37

Given the 49ers talented squad this would be the biggest upset of the day if the Titans can pull another shocker. But Jim Harbaugh is not going to be Kevin Stefanski and make any bonehead moves.

Indianapolis Colts at Seattle Seahawks

IND 10

SEA 28

This game involves the craziest story of the week. 44-year-old Philip Rivers is signed by the Colts because starting quarterback Daniel Jones is lost for the season due to an Achilles injury and backup Riley Leonard is questionable after suffering a sprained right knee in the week’s game. Anthony Richardson is still on IR with an orbital injury suffered in an accident not related to a game. If Indianapolis puts Rivers back in action playing against Seattle in that city, they are nuts. I believe the guy would get hurt. With or without him, the Colts are fading rapidly.

Detroit Lions at Los Angeles Rams

DET 24

LAR 31

We have the AFC Game of the Week taking place in New England, the NFC version in Los Angeles. The Rams want to stay in first place in the NFC West, and the Lions are still within striking distance of the first place Packers. Too much firepower for Detroit coming from the Rams.

Green Bay Packers at Denver Broncos

GB 17

DEN 20

This would be the AFC vs. NFC match of the day. Some might even say this could be a Super Bowl preview. That is a viable thought. It could happen. I’m not sold on Green Bay and Denver has just played so well.

Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints

CAR 32

NO 16

Lots of trap games on this day. Here’s another and if the Panthers have any playoff aspirations or want to get to the post season this is deemed a must win. No way do they blow this.

Minnesota Vikings at Dallas Cowboys

MIN 24

DAL 28

The Cowboys might believe they still have an outside shot at a playoff position. The Vikings are simply playing for pride. Dallas has a George Pickens problem in that he was accused of taking plays off recently. This is why he is an ex-Steeler. Attitude. Dallas should win this one, but it will be close.

Miami Dolphins at Pittsburgh Steelers

MIA 12

PIT 34

Week 15 closes with a wintery Monday Night Football game in Pittsburgh. Coming from sunny Florida, it’s always been said the warm weather teams do not fair well in cold weather. As a Steelers fan, my concern here is Steelers consistency. They looked great in Baltimore a week before, but can they put on a performance like that again? The Dolphins are not as talented as the Baltimore Ravens and in playing at home, Pittsburgh can make no excuses for losing unless they just stink up the joint. Miami has won four in a row, but I say so what? They shocked the Bills for the first win in the streak then beat the likes of Washington, New Orleans, and the Jets. Those last three games should give them a false sense of confidence in facing off against a Steelers team coming off a victory where both sides of the ball finally came together to play well as a complete team.
