The New England Patriots Aren't Over

Following the wildcard matchup between the Tennessee Titans and the New England Patriots, many claimed it to be “the end of a dynasty” for New England. In where the underdog Tennessee Titans defeated the defending champions on their own turf. Topped off with a Tom Brady pick-six in the winding seconds of the game. In dramatic fashion in which the head coach of the Titans Mike Vrabel beat his former coach. Vrabel played 8 seasons as a linebacker for New England under coach Bill Belichick.

Many NFL fans can’t wait to see the Patriots dynasty fall. I, myself are one of these fans. Many NFL fans despise the Patriots because of their 20 years of dominance. As well as some previous cheating scandals like spy gate and deflate-gate. I believe that these fans saying that the Patriots’ dynasty is over are jumping the gun. They are just ready to see the Patriots reign come to an end.

One thing I’ve learned about the Patriots is don’t count them out. As we’re seen miraculous comebacks by Brady and company time and time again. Especially in Super Bowl 51 when New England came back from a 25 point deficit late in the 3rd quarter to defeat the Atlanta Falcons in overtime. The Patriots are the most feared team and for a reason. They’re the hardest team to knock off each year. The mastermind of Bill Belichick and the seemingly ageless Tom Brady are so good every season.

This past season the New England Patriots had the best defense in 2019, with Pro Bowl defenders Stephon Gilmore and Donta Hightower. In many years past the Patriots have been known for their high powered offense. This year their defense stepped up big and played well all season. Offensively New England was banged up. They also lost two receivers in Antonio Brown and Josh Gordon early in the season. Two key pieces in a potentially dominate receiver core. That would’ve helped complement Tom Brady and the offense.

With all of this being said, don’t count out the New England Patriots. Many will doubt them and it won’t shock me to see them wreak havoc on opposing teams next season. I’m sure they’ll still be a tough team to beat next season. It will be interesting to see how the Patriots answer back next season. Obviously assuming New England signs back Quarterback Tom Brady. That’s a big objective this offseason for the New England to pull off. With the many rumors going around surrounding his future with the team.
