Week 2 Abstract Sports Fantasy Football League Recaps: The Injury Train Begins, Featuring New Overall High & Low Scores

We didn’t get too far into the season for injuries to start affecting some teams. Joe Burrow is one to note who was the 6th QB drafted in both leagues. I’m no football scientist, but I can guarantee there will be more injuries that will affect your teams, it’s just a matter of who and when. In Week 2, only two teams across both leagues scored under 100 points… and one of those two teams scored under 90.

FFL1 Recap

The Tuddy Buddies (122.0) couldn’t pull off the late comeback against I Like TDs (138.74). Both teams land at .500 through Week 2.

Henryless Levis (118.68) was lucky to pull off the win, but he was up against the team who scored the lowest overall score this season across both leagues - Lambeau Forever (87.92). Justin Herbert was just about all the difference in this one.

I Strained McCaffrey (146.8) gets a solid win over Dora the Touchdown Scora (119.32) this week, in spite of Christian McCaffrey playing with a strained McCalf-rey. Dora’s Squad would have been affected by the Joe Burrow injury in this matchup, but they had JJ McCarthy in the starting lineup… who also ended up getting hurt. What a string of bad luck!

Fumblerooski (136.9) didn’t fumble the W this week as he got the win over last week’s high score earner, Backfield Penetration (111.8). The receivers did it all for the Fumblerooskians.

The Season 1 FFL1 Champion Perpetual Priapisms (156.08) laid the smack down on Team FSABS Hart (116.04) with a good all-around team performance minus Courtland Sutton in the flex spot.

And the high score cash grab for FFL1 goes to…. Season 4 FFL1 Champion Ja’Marrvelous D*cker (191.42). GIT UR DUN (154.16) got the bad-beat matchup this week, because he had a top 3 score in the league, but it didn’t matter in this case.

Featured Matchups for Week 3

Undefeated & The Defeated

I’m mostly looking at the undefeated teams (Henryless Levis & Perpetual Priapisms) and the defeated teams (Lambeau Forever & GIT UR DUN). Can the winners keep winning? Can the losers stop losing? We will see soon enough.

Week-by-Week High Scores

Week 1: Backfield Penetration (138.86)

Week 2: Ja’Marrvelous D*cker (191.42)

FFL2 Recap

The Tater Tuds (129.0) took down Week 1’s high score winner Jackson’s Finest Team (93.68) with a big week from fantasy football’s global #1 pick Ja’Marr Chase.

Tua’s Trophy Fish (135.74) keeps doing champion-like things, knocking everyone down in his path, including Jonathan’s (apparently not-so) Scary Team (105.98). Tua’s Trophy Fish’s highest scoring player was actually a Miami Dolphin for once (De’Von Achane), how fitting!

The Kittle Engine (160.1), one of FFL2’s newest teams, earns a well deserved first win in this league over No Place Like Mahomes (119.08). His QB, WR, and RB positions all went off, could be a scary sign for his opponents down the road if they all stay healthy.

Greg Heffley (118.64) wins the brotherly showdown over the Lumberjacks (104.74), but not by much. Greg Heffley lost Joe Burrow, so the scoring could have been different here, but I’m sure he’s just happy to sneak in the W with his QB on the way out.

The Smokin Fins (130.5) notch their first win of the season over Jeanty & Juice (123.14). I heard Jeanty & Juice kept taunting Smokin Fins in the ESPN app after every TD they scored, and I think that’s the energy we should all have, so even if you lose the matchup, at least you can cause stress and pressure while the games are happening. Both teams now sit at .500 on the young season.

And the high score for Week 2 goes to… My Nabers (225.98) with the first 200+ game and high score across both leagues. He beat Tet’s TDs (124.02) by just over 100 points… the crazy thing is that 124 is a pretty normal score in this league, and would have beat 6 other teams. This puts our defending champ (Tua’s Trophy Fish) and the runner up (My Nabers) from 2024 both at 2-0 to start the season. We need to conspire against them both!

Featured Matchups of Week 3

No Place Like Mahomes vs Tater Tuds

All eyes should be on the undefeated teams this week and hoping that Jonathan’s Scary Team and Jackson’s Finest Team can put a stop to their winning madness. Jackson’s had a high score already so maybe he’ll be the one to humble one of the juggernauts. HOWEVER, the highlighted matchup for Week 3 is between two co-worker buddies. They come to the same workplace every day, one is a Chiefs fan, and one is an Eagles fan. Everything about this matchup says it’s going to be an interesting football week at the workplace.

Week-by-Week High Scores

Week 1: Jackson’s Finest Team (163.6)
Week 2: My Nabers (225.98)
