As the Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, and Minnesota Vikings all take this weekend off with their respective bye week, the rest of the league takes to the field with only the New York Jets a team without a victory so far. My picks to date have not been great! 5-7 last week so on to trying for an improved forecast!

New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles

This Thursday night name is for first place in the NFC East incredibly the winner will be 3-4 if it’s Giants and 2-4-1 with the Eagles prevailing.

Prediction: Eagles 37 / Giants 14

San Francisco 49ers at New England Patriots

The New England Patriots in third place? Nah....Yes. They are in third at 2-3. The 49ers rebounded nicely last week with a win while the “Brady-less” Pats have lost two in a row. That’s so unlike a Bill Belichick team. Make that three in a row.

Prediction: 49ers 27 / Patriots 21

Buffalo Bills at New York Jets

Buffalo now has two straight losses after starting the season 4-0. The bleeding stops here...EASILY. The Jets are a mess.

Prediction: Bills 38 / Jets 9

Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints

The Saints seem to be regrouping while all the buzz about Drew Brees declining continues. The Panthers are even at 3-3 but weren’t supposed to be a team making any noise this after all.

Prediction: Saints 31 / Panthers 20

Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals

When the Browns faced two of the AFC’s best teams in Baltimore and Pittsburgh they got spanked. Now they get a 1-4-1 Bengals team with one of the most promising rookie quarterbacks the starter with a great future ahead. Joe Burrow and the men in stripes get it done here as Cleveland is heading for another messy season.

Prediction: Bengals 24 / Browns 20

Dallas Cowboys at Washington Football Team

Incredibly The Washington Football Team can be tied for first place with a win despite having just two in the W column with a victory. Word this week came as well that the home team will keep the name “The Washington Football Team” in 2021. Mike McCarthy is certainly not enjoying the season thus far, his first as head coach in Dallas.

Prediction: Washington Football Team 28 / Cowboys 24

Detroit Lions at Atlanta Falcons

Falcon fans are relieved they are not the only team now without a win. That dishonor belongs to the Jets. Are the Falcons a bad 1-5 team? I think not. The Lions? Seems they always have some kind of promise but never fulfill.

Green Bay Packers at Houston Texans

The Packers got humiliated by Tom Brady and the Bucs last weekend while the Texans managed their first victory of the season two weeks ago then were edged by the Titans in a game that may have saved their season. If this were in Green Bay I might go the other way.

Prediction: Texans 31 / Packers 28

Pittsburgh Steelers at Tennessee Titans

Everyone’s game of the week. The outcome here determines who is the best team in the AFC for the moment. This should be a hard-hitting game with the team that makes the fewest mistakes coming out on top. Bias aside (huge Steelers fan here), I think Pittsburgh’s defense is among the top 2-3 right now in the NFL, and Ben Roethlisberger has a potential Offensive Rookie of the Year winner at his expense in Chase Claypool who has scored five times in the last two games.

Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals

A very key game for the Cardinals. They are one win behind in the standings and two losses down from the Seahawks. Seattle is due for an off week. This is the week.

Jacksonville Jaguars at LA Chargers

The Jags like the Jets are a dumpster fire. The ‘Bolts have one of the best young quarterbacks behind center. Just too much talent for Jacksonville to overcome.

Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos

The Broncos upended the Patriots last week now they get a shot at the world champs. Another upset and they will be right in the thick of the division race. Ain’t happening.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Las Vegas Raiders

Tom Brady had one of this best games last week against one of the NFC’s best teams. The Raiders at 3-2 are much better than they were one season ago. Upset special.

Prediction: Raiders 30 / Bucs 27

Chicago Bears at LA Rams

The Bears are surprisingly leading their division with five wins in six games and the Rams need this one badly to keep running with the Seahawks.
