AFC Championship Recap: Pats Take It to the Steelers (36-17)
What a Dominating performance tonight by the New England Patriots.
Before we begin I would just like to tell you how much of a bad-ass I am. This was my prediction for this game:
Brady fixes what was broken against the Texans and torches the Steelers for 4 TDs with 350+ yards passing. Patriots win 38-24 and punch their ticket to Superbowl LI in Houston.
Bad-ass. You can read my full prediction here.
Brady finished the game with 384 yards passing, 3 touchdowns, 0 interceptions; going 32-42 on the night. Brady also completed a pass to 9 different receivers tonight. Chris Hogan had the big game with 9 catches for 180 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Did Tom Brady come to play or what? After the Patriots lackluster performance against the Texans; New England was able to bounce back in the most convincing way. Not only did Brady fix what was broken against the Texans they sent a message to the Falcons; they are coming.
The Steelers looked much like they did last week against the Chiefs. The running game was missing (Williams is awesome don’t get me wrong). AB was locked up all game, and Ben seemed a little bit off his game. With Le’Veon going down in the second quarter with a groin injury, the back-up Deangelo Williams stepped in and looked to give the offense a little bit of a spark. The Steelers were able to score 6 points off Williams’ first drive in the game. The Steelers came away with 9 points to finish off the first half. They would wait until late in the fourth quarter to score again.
How awful did the Steelers look tonight? Mustering up 9 points in the first 3-1/2 quarters pretty much says what I do not wish to say. Ben finished the game going 31/47 for 314 yards 1 touchdown and 1 interception. The Main reason why the Steelers were so unsuccessful was because of their running game. Having a total of 54 yards on the ground hurts the whole offense. And where did Antonio Brown go to? I heard his name twice throughout the whole game.
What a dominating performance by the New England Patriots. They look towards Superbowl LI against the Falcons in Houston, Texas two weeks from today.
